2003 CMW Music Week Festival Artists Talent Guide

C.A.A.M.A. (Canadian Association for the Advancement of Music and the Arts) performs many functions for many people. In addition to its usefulness as a marketing vehicle for artists to press, international buyers, labels, and radio, it has always been a market for business people shopping for new talent. In hopes of facilitating this process, we present the C.A.A.M.A. Talent Guide. We asked all the showcasing acts at CMW to fill out a questionnaire and tell us the top 3 things that they were looking for to advance their careers.

Zubot & Dawson

When asked "what kind of music do you play?", these guys from the west coast of Canada smile and answer "Strang."
The musical influences and evocations in Strang could fill a record catalogue, but the short answer would be "acoustic music that kicks ass." Those that have been listening to roots music over the last 25 years or so might find some musical sign posts pointing towards the work of Bela Fleck, Tony Rice, Ry Cooder, Darol Anger and David "Dawg" Grisman.
