I Write the Theme Songs: Pitching Tunes For TV
Saturday March 6, 2004 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
Westin Harbour Castle Hotel

In this session, Hollywood insiders unlock the secrets of getting your music placed in hot TV series and "event" programs. It's a volatile medium with sliver-thin timeframes to get your ducks in a row - rights, clearances etc. It is also potentially the most lucrative. We look at the roles played by labels, publishing, publishing companies, music libraries, and agencies in helping networks make music choices. And we suss out the rules that allow individual songwriters and composers to play the game.

Moderator: Fraser Hill, A&R/Special Projects, Film and Television Division, EMI Music Canada, ON, Canada

Panelist: Ann Kline, Music Supervisor, John Wells Productions, CA, USA; Susan Slamer, Music Supervisor, American Idol; Madonna Wade-Reed, Music Supervisor, Daisy Music; Kevin Edelman, President, Metalman Media

RECORDS/RETAIL • TUNEUP • TV/FILM
