Allan Reid

Allan Reid entered the music business in 1984 as music director for CHIM FM/CKOV in Kelowna BC. After 2 years of music and on air work he was hired as a promo rep for A&M Records in Vancouver. He was later transferred to A&M's head office in Toronto to continue his promotional duties until PolyGram Records bought A&M and he was moved in to the role of Director of A&R.

Allan signed some great artists early on in his A&R career like Jann Arden and Ashley MacIsaac. He moved into head up the marketing department for 2 years at A&M before returning to run PolyGram's combined domestic roster. He currently oversees the A&R department for Universal Music Canada, home to such artists as the Tragically Hip, Jann Arden, Sam Roberts, Fefe Dobson, Remy Shand, Hawksley Workman and many more.
