Allan Reid
Allan Reid entered the music business in 1984 as music director
for CHIM FM/CKOV in Kelowna BC. After 2 years of music and
on air work he was hired as a promo rep for A&M Records in
Vancouver. He was later transferred to A&M's head office in
Toronto to continue his promotional duties until PolyGram
Records bought A&M and he was moved in to the role of Director
of A&R.
Allan signed some great artists early on in his A&R career
like Jann Arden and Ashley MacIsaac. He moved into head up
the marketing department for 2 years at A&M before returning
to run PolyGram's combined domestic roster. He currently oversees
the A&R department for Universal Music Canada, home to such
artists as the Tragically Hip, Jann Arden, Sam Roberts, Fefe
Dobson, Remy Shand, Hawksley Workman and many more.
