Billie Holiday

Billie was born in Ottawa, Ontario and started her radio career volunteering at local radio and TV stations at the age of 15. Following high school, Billie attended Humber College where she studied both TV and Film Production and Radio Broadcasting. After taking a year to backpack through Europe, she landed her first radio job at a small station in Newmarket, Ontario. Billie then headed to Toronto to start at KISS 92.5 FM where she covered the entire entertainment spectrum by travelling to LA and NYC to cover the red carpet at award shows such as The Grammy's, The MTV awards, The Billboard Awards, The American Music Awards and many others. Billie has also done several national celebrity interviews for the Sound Source radio network. She will continue covering award shows and talking to the biggest stars for 98.1 CHFI.

You may remember Billie from Canada's first Nationally televised talent search "POPSTARS" where she helped select the group Sugar Jones. She has also appeared as a co-host on "Daytime", as a guest on Mike Bullard, Much Music and TSN's "Off The Record". Just recently Billie began her acting career by playing a character named Vanessa on the SHOWTIME TV show "Soulfood" opposite Vanessa Williams.

In 2001 Billie started "Project GO" (Girls Only). GO is a program for the Toronto District School Board where she speaks to hundreds of high school girls about self esteem and staying strong. For her efforts in working with teenage girls Billie received the Public Education HERO Award in 2002. She has also been involved in raising awareness for Sheena's Place (a center for women with eating disorders).

Billie's newest venture is as a host on the new late night TV talk show "LAST CALL" on Canada's newest TV network TORONTO 1. You can catch the show Monday to Friday LIVE at 11 pm on channel 15.

Billie is thrilled about bringing "The Mad Dog and Billie Morning Show" over to 98.1 CHFI and looks forward to getting to know all the listeners. She lives downtown Toronto with her pug Mac.
