Cameron Strang
Cameron Strang is the founder and President of New West Records.
Originally from Vancouver B.C., Cameron is a graduate of the
Law School and Business School at U.B.C. He now resides in
Los Angeles California. New West Records is a seven year old,
wholly independent record/DVD label. With thirty-eight releases
to date the roster includes: Delbert McClinton, John Hiatt,
The Flatlanders, Tim Easton, Vic Chesnutt, Drive-By Truckers,
Randall Bramblett, Chuck Prophet, Slobberbone, Stephen Bruton,
Jon Dee Graham and new signings the Old 97's and Los Super
Seven.
With its main office in Los Angeles and another in Austin
TX, the company is staffed by a unique blend of music specialists.
New West also exclusively represents PBS Television program
Austin City Limits and is releasing both archival and current
performances on DVD and CD.
Cameron was also a founder and
Co President of DMZ records a joint venture record label with
Columbia Records. His partners in that venture where Producer
T Bone Burnett, Filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen and John Grady.
