Graham Henderson
Graham Henderson is the Senior Vice President, Business Affairs
& e-Commence at Universal Music Canada. He is on the Board
of Directors of three companies: Maple Music, Moontaxi Media
Inc. (Puretracks) and The Orange Record Label.
Prior to joining Universal, Mr. Henderson was a partner with
Stohn Henderson LLP (1997-2000), a boutique entertainment
law firm that he founded.
Mr. Henderson was a partner with McCarthy Tetrault where he
practiced law for 7 years. In late 1993 he left McCarthy Tetrault
to open his own practice.
Mr. Henderson has specialized in entertainment law since 1987.
He has provided strategic legal advice to recording artists,
musicians, songwriters, producers, engineers, record labels,
music publishers, video directors and producers, production
companies, theatrical companies and charitable organizations.
Mr. Hendersonís experience is internationally recognized.
He was an expert witness in a music-related US arbitration
hearing. He has also designed and/or moderated several panels
at the SXSW Music Convention held each year in Austin, Texas.
Mr. Henderson teaches Entertainment Law at the University
of Toronto Law School as well as participating as a guest
lecturer in the Law Schoolsí ìArt of the Dealî.
Mr. Henderson is the chairperson and founder of a charitable
organization, The Moot Court Canada Fund, the organization
which operates ìThe Laskinî ‚ a national moot competition
for law students held in memory of the late Chief Justice
of the Supreme Court of Canada, The Honourable Bora Laskin.
Mr. Henderson is a graduate of University Toronto Law School
(LL.B., 1985), University of Toronto (MA/English, 1979) and
Guelph University (Joint Major in English and Fine Art History,
1978).
Mr. Henderson was called to the Bar in 1987.
