Heather Ostertag

With 18 years at the helm of the Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent On Records, (FACTOR) and an additional 8 years experience in the Canadian music industry, Heather Ostertag has earned her respected Industry profile.

Ms. Ostertag began her career in Canadian music in 1977 as the Administration Manager at the Canadian Talent Library (CTL). When the CTL merged with FACTOR in 1986, she found her niche.

Immediately following the merger Ms. Ostertag was the Director of Administration until 1988 when, she became Executive Director. In 1999, she was named FACTOR's President ‚ the title she still holds today.

As President, Ms. Ostertag is an active member in the Canadian music community, but her community involvement extends beyond her FACTOR role. She is the current chair of the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA). And is a life-time director on the Board of Directors for the East Coast Music Awards.

Ms. Ostertag has been well recognized by the music industry. She has been twice voted one of Canada's 30 Top Most Influential Music Executives. The East Coast Music Association appointed her an "Honorary Lifetime Director" in 1995, and the Canadian Association of Broadcasters honoured her with the Ruth Hancock "Friend of the Industry" award in 1996.
