Howie Abrams
New York City native Howie Abrams has spent nearly half of
his life working in the music industry. Beginning in 1987
as a salesperson for Important Record Distributors (now RED
Distribution), Howie made enough of an impression within his
first 6 months at the company that they decided to allow him
to start his own label In-Effect Records. During his time
with In-Effect, Howie signed and negotiated deals for releases
by groups such as 24-7 Spyz, Bad Brains, Agnostic Front, Prong
and Scatterbrain among others.
After 6 years running In-Effect, Howie moved over to Roadrunner
Records as Director of A&R and Product Management and worked
with the likes of Type O Negative, Sepultura, Biohazard, Fear
Factory, Shelter, Vision of Disorder, Madball, Front Line
Assembly and Dog Eat Dog.
Currently in his 8th year of service at Jive Records/Zomba
Music Publishing, Howieís current roster includes: Bowling
For Soup, Mudvayne, the Misfits, Rhys Fulber (Delerium, Josh
Groban, Fear Factory, P.O.D.), Carlos Bess (Wu-Tang Clan),
Josh Joplin, One True Thing and Torontoís own Reason Disappears.
