Jon Pikus
Jon has been with Columbia Records for 6 years this April, and has brought in artists The Ataris, Memento, Crazy Town, Endo & Rebel, each of which he co-A&R's with Tim Devine. He has also been involved with the recent Ramones Tribute album, Mike Watt, Serj from System Of A Down's label Serjical Strike, whose releases include
Kittens For Christian & Slow Motion Reign, and Daron from System Of A Down's
label EatUrMusic, whose forthcoming release will be Amen.
Jon began his professional music career in the early 1990's as a drummer in
prominent Los Angeles alternative rock bands Campfire Girls (Interscope) &
El Magnifico (RCA). At that time he was also an engineer/producer of Los
Angeles rock bands, recording independent releases & demos for Weezer (Geffen), Plexi (Sub Pop/Atlantic), Black Market Flowers (Relativity), Scott Thomas (Elektra), as well as his own bands. In 1994, upon Campfire Girls signing to Interscope, he founded independent label Boy's Life Records through ADA distribution. When Campfire Girls disbanded in 1996, Jon began working for Interscope as an A&R scout, during which time he signed the electronic-rock band Pink Noise Test. In 1998 he joined
Columbia as an A&R scout, and in September 2001 became Director of A&R.
