Steve Young
Steve is the Director of Pop and Rock Programming for Jones
Radio Networks in Seattle. He is also the Program Director
of the 7PM to Midnight Hot AC syndicated Alan Kabel show,
currently heard on over 50 stations across the United States.
Young enjoyed a successful career in Canadian radio throughout
the 1970's and 1980's serving as Program Director for 92 CITI
FM, Winnipeg and CJAY FM, Calgary. In 1985, Steve was selected
as the first recipient of the Canadian Music Industry Awards,
Program Director of the Year award.
In 1985, Young joined Joint Communications as Senior Program and Research Strategist. In this capacity, Steve consulted over 30 radio stations in both Canada and the United States. Steve moved to Seattle in 1989 to become Program Director of KISW FM. Station owner, Nationwide Communications also appointed Steve as their West Coast Group P.D. After leaving KISW in 1996, Steve became Operations Manager of legendary rocker WNEW FM in New York City, from there, Steve was tapped to lead the recovery of WAXQ FM also in New York. Steve moved back to Seattle in 1999 to take up his current position with Jones Radio Networks.
Steve is well known for his talent development skills beginning
back during his time in Winnipeg. Among the talents that Young
has been privileged to work with are "Brother" Jake
Edwards, Terry DiMonte, JJ Johnston, Andy Frost and Bob Rivers.
