Grumpy Old Headliners: Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes?
Friday March 4, 2005 4:30PM
Fairmont Royal York

Rod Stewart, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, The Eagles, Aerosmith... They're all still reliable arena and stadium fillers, but they all come with an expiration date. The industry now faces an artist development problem that has reached a crisis level on the live music front. What will the concert scene look like 10 years from now, and why did the steady stream of mega-acts from the '60s, '70s and '80s peter out in the '90s? And while they're still around, what can tomorrow's seat fillers learn from the old boys in the area of entertainment and delivering the goods? Our panel will extrapolate from today's scene and try to figure out where it's going.
