Redemption Song: Profit From P2P
Thursday March 3, 2005 2:45PM
Fairmont Royal York

Are we ready yet to talk about file-sharing without gnashing our teeth? Yes, millions of peer-to-peer users have absconded with product without paying, and though P2P has been the "killer app" that drove the billion-dollar Broadband business, music rights-holders have seen no share of its revenues. But even as major labels sue individual file-shares, there are a slew of new companies offering moneymaking P2P plans. This panel will consider whether it's time to talk carrot instead of stick, and posit a future where P2P is just another way of doing business.
