National Songwriting Contest
Regional Winners Announced
Toronto, Ontario (February 17, 2005) - The regional winners of the 12th Annual National Songwriting Competition have been announced. The twelve finalists will perform at the Songwriters Festival on Saturday, March 5th at the Pipers Room in the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, during Canadian Music Week (CMW). The grand prize winner will be announced on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Canadian Music Week.
The grand prize winner is decided by a panel of industry experts put together by the Songwriters Association of Canada.

Hosted by Tom Barlow, himself a former National Songwriting Competition winner, and frontman of the very successful group Barlow, the Songwriters Festival, sponsored by the Songwriters Association of Canada, will be a night to remember for everyone. The finalists will perform from 8 ‚ 9:30PM with a bonus appearance by 14 year old singer/songwriter, Christine Evans whose debut CD is making quite an impact.
Following this first half the audience will be treated to performances from some of the very best established, International artists: Andy Kim, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Gary Baker, Gary Burr and Mark Hudson will perform material from their own songbooks.
