Brian Hetherman

Brian Hetherman began his career in the music industry, out of high school by spinning records in clubs and managing music retail stores like A&A Records and Sunrise. It was during this time that he attended Trebas Institute. After landing a Job as a Retail marketing rep at Duke Street Records (Chalk Circle, Jane Siberry, Art Bergmann) in the late 80's, he developed a relationship with MCA Records (now Universal) that would extend for many years.

Brian left Duke Street in January 1990 to become a Retail Marketing and Sales Rep for MCA Records. After a few years in that position, he became a Radio Promotion and Marketing Rep for MCA, which entailed promoting artists such as Guns N Roses, Peter Gabriel, The Tragically Hip and Elton John at Radio, as well as overseeing artist's promotional trips.

In 1995 Brian became the Director of A&R (Artist and Repertoire) for MCA Records and head of MCA Music publishing. During Brian's tenure at MCA / Universal he was responsible for signing to the label Souldecision, Holly McNarland, Age of Electric, Johnny Favourite Swing Orchestra and Jason McCoy among others. He was also a judge on the first season of the highly rated reality show "Popstars", which spawned the platinum act Sugar Jones.

In 2001 Brian was offered the inaugural position as Executive Director of the Radio Starmaker Fund, which is a non-profit organization that administers funds to promote and market Canadian recording artists. After helming Radio Starmaker through its first couple of years, an opportunity presented itself for Brian to make his planned move into Artist management when Holly McNarland was seeking representation.

Cerberus Artist Management and Curve Music are a fulfillment of a long standing dream and an answer to the growing changes in the Music Industry. The combination of a management company, record company and a partnership with the artists involved is a concept that Brian has long believed in and now putting in to action.
