Jason Pettigrew When he was a twenty-nothing languishing in Western Pennsylvania, Jason Pettigrew dreamed of working for the legendary NYC new-wave publication Trouser Press. Fortunately, he fared much better when, in 1985, he discovered the Cleveland, Ohio-based fanzine ALTERNATIVE PRESS. Started by publisher Michael P. Shea, AP has since evolved into an internationally distributed music magazine, spanning over 200 issues and two decades of "new music now," to successive generations of listeners who have smashed their radios in search of something new. In his position as editor in chief, Pettigrew still isn't convinced he's heard it all before, and that's a big reason why he still opens his own mail. |
