Jeff Fenster

Jeff Fenster started his career as a music attorney at Mitchell, Silberberg and Knupp in L.A. He was the Business Affairs person at Warner Bros. Records for 4 1/2 years.

After that, he joined the A&R department at Geffen Records in 1988, where he signed and worked with artists including Junkyard and Christopher Williams. In 1990, Jeff became Senior VP of A&R for Charisma Records in New York, where he signed Jellyfish and A&R'd records with Maxi Priest, Enigma and others.

From 1992 through 2000, Jeff became the first Head of A&R for Jive Records, where he signed and/or A&R'd artists including Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, R. Kelly, Too Short, Mystikal, KRS-One, Keith Murray, E-40 and hed(pe).

For the nest five years after Jive, Jeff was the head of A&R for Island Def Jam. He put together the Island A&R team and worked with all of the label's artists including Christina Milian, the Killers, Hoobastank, Bon Jovi,. Mariah, Sum 41 and Fefe Dobson.

Currently Jeff is Senior VP of A&R for Arista Records in NY. Working with Clive Davis, Jeff is responsible for signing and developing new talent as well as working with the Arista roster, which includes such legendary artists as Carlos Santana, Whitney, Aretha, Dido and Sarah MacLachlan.
