Marcie Allen Cardwell
Marcie Allen Cardwell is a Nashville-based talent buyer and producer specializing in college booking, tour sponsorships and talent buying for music festivals and corporate events. Cardwell's shows have included the 18-city Virgin College Megatour (featuring Michelle Branch and Gavin DeGraw), New Orleans' Voodoo Music Festival, Nashville's Dancin' in the District, Atlanta's On The Bricks, Washington's DC Sessions and the Memphis Jam. Corporate clients included Cracker Barrel, Sun Microsystems, Victoria's Secret, and WebMD.
Previously, Cardwell worked at Cellar Door Concerts, in Washington, D.C, for three years. Cardwell worked the inaugural season at Nissan Pavilion at Stone Ridge as Asst. Director of Corporate Sales. She was later promoted to Director of Marketing/Promotions. Cardwell also worked at the William Morris Agency in Nashville, TN for two years.
In 1999, Cardwell launched MAD Booking which got its start buying national talent for colleges across the country. At MAD Booking, Cardwell secured the first music festival sponsorship with McDonalds and Bridgestone/Firestone. Other corporate sponsorships she secured for MAD'S music festivals include: Coke/Dasani, Pepsi/Aquafina, Budweiser, Coors Light, AT&T Wireless, Cingular/Nokia, General Motors, AOL, DC Lottery, and Toyota.
In 1999, Cardwell was hired to secure the talent for the Voodoo Music Festival. Voodoo was a huge success, featuring artists such as Stone Temple Pilots, Live, Cypress Hill, 311, Counting Crows, TOOL, Moby, Bush, Train, and Eminem with attendances over 65,000. Voodoo was nominated in 2001 as Pollstar Magazine's Festival of the Year. Cardwell booked talent for the festival 1999-2001.
In 2004, Cardwell sold MAD Booking and went solo doing business as MAC Presents. In December 2004, Cardwell secured a name-in-title sponsorship with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store for the Alison Krauss & Union Station 2005 Tour.
