Mark Anderson

Mark G. Anderson works at MasurLaw, where he focuses on intellectual property licensing, trademark and copyright issues, contracts, and general corporate and transactional work. Mark works closely with recording artists, producers, record labels, technology and content companies to create innovative new contractual arrangements in a changing market for the sale of music. Mark has drafted and negotiated a wide variety of licensing arrangements, management, recording, digital distribution, ringtone and other mobile delivery deals. Mark has worked on ringtone and mobile content deals for clients such as mbuzzy, Vindigo and Buongiorno and digital distribution arrangements with Timeless Media, Digizaar, Yamaha and soon with the new e-labels being launched by the major record companies. Mark's recent music clients have included Remedy for Ruin, Major Deegan, Mother Inc., and the independent record labels I Love Records, Tweek'd Records and Seven Seven Records. Mark has also prosecuted a wide variety of national and international trademark applications and negotiated settlements in this area. Finally, Mark co-wrote sections of the primary online music law class for Berklee School of Music in Boston.

Prior to joining Masur & Associates, Mark was Director of Business Affairs for License Music Now and Contracts Manager for Vault Music Services. In these positions, he worked closely with major music publishers and record labels as well as independent artists and producers of movies, television, and advertising to negotiate and license music for the audiovisual market.

Mark received a B.A. (Honours) in Psychology from Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario and a J.D. from Fordham University, where he focused on issues relating to the entertainment industry. He is licensed to practice in New York.
