Riley O'Connor
Riley O'Connor, House of Blues Concerts Canada's Senior Vice President of Central Canada operations, has been a formidable force in Canadian music since arriving on the scene in 1973. From early beginnings as a drum roadie, guitar tech, stagehand and truck driver, Riley quickly moved up the ranks of concert promotion in Canada, the United States and Europe, beginning in production, and moving onto talent buying and operations.
In 1977 Riley co-founded Perryscope Concert Productions (now House of Blues Concerts Canada) in Vancouver and worked as Production Manager. In 1980, Riley became General Manager, Chief of Operation and Talent Buyer.
After a brief move from the music scene in 1987 to Baseline Entertainment as Sports Marketing Manager, Special Events and coordinating projects such as the 1988 Skins Game, Exhibition Tennis and other corporate events, Riley again joined the music industry as Project Manager and Director of Talent and Production Operations at CPI Toronto in 1989.
Since joining House of Blues Concerts Canada in March 1998, Riley has brought some of the brightest lights and greatest shows Ontario has ever seen including, The Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, The Smashing Pumpkins, KISS and The Tragically Hip to name but a few. He also coordinated EdgeFest, Canada's most successful national tour of 1998. He is regarded, respected and admired by artists and managers alike for his integrity and passion for the music industry.
Riley (born April 1, 1951) is married to Kate (born March 15, 1964), and has three children, David, (born May 28, 1979), Lindsay, (born December 3, 1981), and Cael (born September 4,1998).
