About Shamus…

Shamus has managed to breathe new life into pop music. Tunes this catchy have not been played with the raw energy of rock ‘n roll at its most passionate since the early days of Elvis Costello. Shamus combine their unique style of pop craftsmanship with a live show that is quickly gaining recognition for its intensity. After a few months of refining their sound, the band burst onto the Montreal scene by winning the prestigious CHOM l’Esprit competition in the summer of 2002. They have been keeping themselves busy with a series of minitours, playing every town they could find between Halifax and Toronto. Shamus recorded their first demo, produced by Paul Cargnello, in early 2002. Their next demo/EP, with producer Don Hachey, will be recorded in January 2003.
