Award 1 • MUSIC DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR (SECONDARY MARKET)
Award 2 • MUSIC DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR (MAJOR MARKET)
In order to be considered for final nominations in this category, stations
must submit a completed submission form. In 50 words or less, briefly describe
why you believe this entry is worthy of recognition for Music Director of
the Year. Your summary must be based on the following criteria:
i) Accessibility for promo calls, meetings and providing feedback - recognized by both staff and industry as a team player in all aspects of the radio station.
ii) Ears/Hit Picker - reputation for fair evaluation of new product as well as picking and making the hits.
iii) Profile - effort to attend shows and industry events relative to the market and industry
iv) Extra Mile - takes the extra step to expose or champion a Canadian artist.
Award 3 • PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR (SECONDARY MARKET)
Award 4 • PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR (MAJOR MARKET)
In order to be considered for final nominations in this category, stations must submit a completed submission form. In 50 words or less, briefly describe why you believe this entry is worthy of recognition for Program Director of the Year. Your summary must be based on the following criteria:
i) Programming - provide highlights over the eligibility period.
ii) Career Development - examples of team building, talent relations, assistance in developing a personality success story.
iii) Business Performance - developing new business, assisting with generation of sales.
iv) Promotions - overview of promotion highlight(s) over the eligibility period.
v) Ratings - Outline of performance in terms of share.
Award 5 • ON-AIR TALENT OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nominations in this category, stations must submit a completed submission form. In 50 words or less, briefly describe why you believe this entry is worthy of recognition for On-Air Talent of the Year. Your summary must be based on the following criteria:
i) Ratings - Outline of performance in terms of share with target demos (12+ average over Spring and Fall 2004 BBM)
ii) Community Involvement - Is this someone who is accessible and cares about investing in the community.
You must submit a 2 - 3 minute air check in MP3 format, with a maximum file size of 5MB.

In order to be considered for final nominations in categories 6 through
12, stations must submit a completed submission form. In 50 words or less, briefly
describe why you believe this entry is worthy of recognition for Station of
the Year. Your summary must be based on the following criteria:
i) Ratings - Outline of performance in terms of share with target demos (12+ average over Spring and Fall 2004 BBM)
ii) Community Service - Outline the greatest single or continuing contribution to the community in the calendar year for 2004.
iii) Building Canadian Talent - Outline the station's contribution to the assistance of building Canadian talent on radio. Note: For talk radio, this outline should be based on coverage for special events.
iv) Exceptional Performance or Achievement - Outline the station's performance highlights for 2004.
Award 13 • PROMOTION OF THE YEAR (this award
is presented at the "Promotion Panel" during Canadian Music Week.)

Samples of materials must be submitted for components used (ie: radio creative, print creative, tv creative, outdoor creative, media coverage, website creative, newsletter component).
NOTE: Submissions can be of a charity or station-driven nature and are not necessarily required to be music related.
There is a $30.00 submission fee per station. This fee allows for submissions to Radio Station of the Year, Music Director of the Year, Program Director of the Year, On-Air Talent of the Year and Promotion of the Year.
LIVE TOURING
Award 14 • PEFORMING ARTS CENTRE OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the number of acts booked, support of Canadian talent. A Performing Arts Centre is a "soft-seat" theatre with a reserved seating capacity of up to 4,000.
Award 15 • MAJOR FACILITY OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the number of acts booked, support of Canadian talent. A Major Facility is an ampitheatre, arena or stadium.
Award 16 • MANAGEMENT COMPANY OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the management company's accomplishments and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period.
Award 17 • BOOKING AGENCY OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the booking agency's accomplishments and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period.
Award 18 • PROMOTER OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the promoter's accomplishments and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period
RETAIL
Award 19 • INDEPENDENT RECORD STORE OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the record store's sales service, local promotions and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period.
Award 20 • RACK JOBBER OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the rack jobber's client service and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period.
Award 21 • MASS MERCHANT/SPECIALTY RETAILER OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the retailer's sales service, promotions and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period.
Award 22 • RETAIL CHAIN OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the retail chain's sales service, promotions and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period.
RECORDING INDUSTRY
Award 23 • RECORDING STUDIO OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must describe in 50 words or less, why you feel this entry is worthy of recognition for Recording Studio of the Year. Your summary must be based on the following criteria:
i) Charting Records within the eligibility period
ii) Contribution to Canadian Talent
iii) Technical Specifications
iv) Producers and Artists
v) Number of Studios
vi) Capabilities
vii) Dedicated Mastering Room
viii) Dedicated 5.1 Room
Award 24 • CANADIAN INDEPENDENT LABEL OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, the independent label must have released Canadian product for sale at the retail level. Other criteria to take into consideration include the label's service, promotion and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period.
Award 25 • INDEPENDENT DISTRIBUTOR OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the distributor's sales service, and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period.
Award 26 • MUSIC PUBLISHER OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, nominator must take into consideration the music publisher's accomplishments and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period.
Award 27 • MAJOR LABEL OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, the label must have released Canadian product for sale at the retail level. Other criteria to take into consideration include the label's service, promotion and support of Canadian talent during the eligibility period.
Award 28 • CANADIAN TALENT DEVELOPMENT STORY OF THE YEAR
In order to be considered for final nomination in this category, the nominator must take into consideration all aspects of an act's career during the eligibility period including new recordings, live performances, radio airplay, community involvement, national and international success.
