Xtreme Band Slam Wants You!

Competition Now Open to New, Unsigned Acts
Over $50,000 in Prizes to be Awarded

Toronto, Ontario (November 23, 2004) - Bands with originality to spare are invited to enter Canadian Music Week's Xtreme Band Slam‚ a competition that pits the best regional talent from across Canada in a chance to win over $50,000 in prizes. Final contestants will compete in the Xtreme Band Slam National Playdown on Saturday, March 5, 2005 during Canadian Music Week (CMW) in Toronto.

Interested participants should tune into the following radio stations for further information and a chance to qualify for regional competitions:

Each regional finalist will perform before a panel of music industry judges‚ and an enthusiastic audience at the semi-finals, taking place Thursday, March 3 and Friday, March 4 in Toronto. Three bands from each night will move on to the finals and compete for the Grand Prize at the Xtreme Band Slam National Playdown on Saturday, March 5.

All participating bands will receive a one-year complimentary subscription to Canadian Musician Magazine.

The Grand Prize winner of the Xtreme Band Slam competition will receive approximately $50,000 in prizing. Prizes include:
